About Haleakalā Farm
Rooted in Place
Nestled on the rolling slopes of Haleakalā, Haleakalā Farm is a boutique working farm where regenerative agriculture, seasonal harvests, and thoughtfully crafted value-added products reflect a deep connection to the land and the community we serve.
Acquired 5 years ago as a small succulent farm, Haleakalā Farm was deeply impacted by the 2023 Kula wildfires. In the aftermath, regenerating the farmland became a shared path of healing as we also began the journey of restoring our Lahaina home alongside a devastated community. Rebuilding the farm became more than rebuilding fields and gardens – as the land slowly recovered so did our hope and sense of purpose. By nurturing the ‘Aina we found that it’s regeneration inspired our own- renewing faith and revealing a new purpose: helping others reconnect with the land through caring for the soil, growing food and sharing the harvest.
The first plant to bloom on the farm after the fires were bright orange nasturtiums. Their reemergence became a symbol of optimism. Inspired by the simple reminder that nature is ever resilient, we placed the blossoms atop our signature Lilikoʻi Shortbread, sharing a small burst of color and sweetness with a community finding its way forward.
Today, Haleakalā Farm grows seasonal produce, edible flowers, garlic, pumpkins, winter squash, succulents, cut flowers, and thoughtfully crafted value-added bakery and botanical products that celebrate the beauty and abundance of Upcountry Maui. Every harvest reflects our belief that healthy food begins with healthy soil and that caring for the land is one of the most meaningful ways we can care for one another.
At Haleakalā Farm, Rooted in Place is more than a philosophy. It is our commitment to steward the land with care, celebrate the changing seasons, and share the harvest in ways that nourish both people and place.
Whether you meet us at a farmers market, enjoy one of our products, or join us through the Haleakalā Upcycle Landfill Diversion Project, we invite you to be part of a growing movement toward a healthier, more resilient, and food-secure Maui.
Looking Ahead
Haleakalā Farm is growing with purpose. Our vision is to become a place where people can deepen their connection to food, farming, and the land through meaningful agricultural learning.
Our long-term vision is to serve as a demonstration and learning farm, showing what is possible on a half-acre, in a backyard, or even in a single pot on a lānai. We believe everyone can grow something. By sharing practical, regenerative gardening techniques rooted in permaculture and organic principles, we hope to inspire families to grow fresh food, reduce waste, compost at home, and embrace simple closed-loop systems that strengthen both household resilience and our island community.
As we continue to grow and receive the appropriate approvals, we look forward to welcoming the community to experience Haleakalā Farm through:
- Agricultural education
- Regenerative farming experiences
- Guided farm walks
- Seasonal harvest experiences
- On-farm agricultural demonstrations
Each experience will be designed to inspire practical skills and a deeper appreciation for regenerative agriculture. Our hope is that every guest leaves with ideas they can take home to grow healthy food, reduce waste, build healthy soil, and strengthen food security for their own ʻohana and our island community.
We invite you to follow our journey as Haleakalā Farm continues to grow, and we look forward to welcoming you in the future.
